As a global initiative that is aimed at raising awareness and is championed by the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) in the UK, National Forklift Safety Day serves as an opportunity for forklift manufacturers to highlight the safe use of forklifts, the importance of operator training and the need for daily equipment checks. To demonstrate our commitment to good business practice and to ensure the safe handling of additives in our warehouse, members of the BioCote® team have recently successfully completed Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operator Training.
With our busy site in Coventry, it’s crucial we keep our warehouse well organised at all times. Part of this is to handle the movements of antimicrobial additives within the warehouse area in a safe, responsible and timely manner. For that reason, BioCote® team members recently went through a comprehensive MHE operator training, which they successfully completed.
Carla Crilly, Steve Pointon and Richard Smith took part in the five day novice training, whereas MD Sean Reid went through a one day refresher training. The novice training involved hands-on driving sessions, a full day of theory, and finished with a practical and knowledge exam, which each member passed with flying colours.
BioCote® have chosen Angus Lift Trucks Ltd to deliver the MHE training on-site. Angus are an RTITB Accredited provider of training on a variety of material handling equipment. Their accredited and experienced instructors provide thorough and professional training to both novice and experienced operators.
RTITB (The Regulatory Body for Workplace Transport Training) are recognised by the Health & Safety Executive and Health & Safety Authority as competent to operate accreditation schemes. Angus Lift Trucks Ltd is monitored annually to ensure they maintain the high standards set down by the RTITB. All instructors are RTITB registered, work to RTITB standards, and are monitored throughout the year.
Sean Reid, Managing Director at BioCote®, commented on the training: “Mark from Angus delivered an engaging, structured and practical training to our team. The 3-year certification received, enables everyone involved to operate the certified MHE on our premises. Having four people trained to handle our forklift truck, makes us more responsive than ever to ensure a quick turnaround of orders for our clients.”
BioCote® will continue to maintain a high standard of training for its employees to deliver on good business practice and outstanding service for partners and clients.
