BioCote® were delighted to be announced as the joint winner of the Supplier Partnership Award at this year’s Plastics Industry Awards 2017.
Launched in 2001, and held annually in London, the Plastics Industry Awards are dedicated to rewarding innovation and exceptional performance in an increasingly competitive market. Fifteen categories cover materials usage, product design, manufacturing, training and environmental performance, and entries are judged by a panel of industry experts.
Following a successful twelve-year partnership with plastics compounder Matrix Plastics, BioCote® was jointly nominated for the materials award in 2016. Since early 2005, Matrix has provided unlimited laboratory and production capacity to develop and test many combinations of plastic additive formulations, ensuring the masterbatches that BioCote® offer within the medical, pharmaceutical and general antimicrobial markets are of the highest possible quality; setting the standards in the industry globally. Both Matrix Plastics’ and BioCote’s technical service departments work closely together to produce, monitor and test all products to ensure they meet the required specification set by BioCote®.
Graham Harvey, BioCote’s Managing Director, commented: “Matrix Plastics continues to demonstrate their commitment to meeting BioCote’s market leading standards for quality antimicrobial masterbatches. Their thorough approach and support ensures the collaborative delivery of fast and effective R&D solutions for our business, with certified results being overseen by our internal quality control team. This, combined with their continued investment in equipment and human resources, only serves to reinforce Matrix Plastics’ dedication to the growth of our business partnership and I am delighted that our relationship has resulted in recognition at the Plastics Industry Awards 2017.”
Nigel Batt, Managing Director of Matrix Plastics, added: “We were proud to have been selected by BioCote® as their development partner in 2005 and going forward the investment and development plan we have in place will put both partners in a strong position beyond 2017. We look forward to further strengthening our partnership and to continuing to work side by side to develop and produce new products for use in the Healthcare and Infection Control sectors.”
