The Silver ions create an active surface to inhibit bacterial growth in several ways. Firstly, they are able to bind with cellular proteins within the cell membrane interrupting the cells ability to maintain osmotic pressure, secondly, they bind with proteins involved in cellular metabolic pathways disrupting critical function and thirdly the silver ions affect DNA replication.
BioCote technology is inorganic and offers a high efficacy against a wide range of organisms including MRSA and E.coli, all products are testing by an independent laboratory. The BioCote technology also meet all appropriate regulatory requirements.
