ENVIROVENT UPS THE ANTE WITH SILVER TECHNOLOGY

EnviroVent has joined forces with antimicrobial specialists BioCote to raise the bar in the HVAC industry by launching the first ever range of ventilation solutions that feature silver ion technology.

The company’s BioVent™ Range has been developed with BioCote’s silver ion technology built-in, which works to provide continuous protection against a wide range of bacteria, mould and fungi 24 hours a day for the life of the product.

Nick Heaton, MD at EnviroVent, commented: “The performance and efficiency of a ventilation system greatly depends on the cleanliness of the appliance. Dirty, contaminated units and ductwork are an ideal breeding ground for bacteria and other microbes – a major source of indoor air pollution with dirty systems contributing to 50% of the cases of ‘Sick Building Syndrome’.

“Not a company that rests on its laurels, EnviroVent is constantly looking at developing innovative products that aim to push the boundaries in our industry and add value to installers and their end-user customers. The introduction of the BioVent™ Range is no exception. It is proven that by incorporating BioCote’s silver ion technology at the manufacturing stage, it can help reduce levels of bacteria, mould and fungi by up to 99%.”

The BioVent™ Range includes the BIOFAN™ – a major development in extract fan technology that achieves the lowest maintenance and energy costs along with the lowest life cycle costs on the market; the BIOVENT™, a heat recovery solution with a wide range of sophisticated control options, the
BIO-MEV, a mechanical extract ventilation solution ideal for hygiene conscious applications with a number of wet zones and BIODUCTING – a range of ancillaries and ducting to suit all installation requirements.

Graham Harvey, Commercial Director for BioCote, said: “Silver is an ideal natural antimicrobial because it has a high efficacy against a wide range of potentially disease causing microorganisms and is regarded as non-toxic.

“Whilst incorporating it into products has been and still is extremely popular in hygiene critical environments like the healthcare and food industries, it has taken a little time for other industries catch on to the benefits it can bring. The good news is more and more businesses in a wide range of sectors are now taking advantage and we are delighted that EnviroVent is the first company in the ventilation sector to work with us.
