As the market leader in providing antimicrobial protection, BioCote Ltd has introduced a simple system to detect the presence of BioCoteŽ technology in a product or material. The system is called the BioCoteŽ Detection System (BDS).
Antimicrobial technology has always been a hard concept to comprehend, due to its invisibility to the naked eye. The BioCoteŽ Detection System adds tangibility to the antimicrobial properties of BioCoteŽ protected products, by making the technology visible by simply shining a laser pen at the surface.
The BioCoteŽ Detection System can be incorporated into any BioCoteŽ additive without changing the properties or appearance of the product. BioCoteŽ additives containing BDS are detected as they cause a low power laser to shine green when it is directed onto the material of interest.
The BioCoteŽ Detection System has a number of important uses for both manufacturers and their distributers. For companies who wish to implement best practice in quality control standards, BDS can be used on the production line to verify the presence of BioCoteŽ quickly and easily. The BDS is also an ideal tool to help prevent counterfeit technologies and can be used by the end customer to demonstrate that products are BioCoteŽ protected.
Tracey Baker, marketing manager at BioCote Ltd comments, The BioCoteŽ Detection System is already being used by some of our partners who are finding it a great way to quickly test for the presence of BioCoteŽ technology at the quality control stage of production. BDS is also proving a beneficial sales tool, demonstrating to customers the presence of BioCoteŽ and helping them conceptualize how antimicrobial technology is built-into products and remains active at their surface to continuously provide antimicrobial protection.
